Come to the Angel's Atelier Retreat for a preview and tour of the spectacular 40 acre site in the painted desert region of Northeastern Arizona!
You will witness the survey of the land on Friday March 15, 2019 which will mean hiking all the boundaries including if you so choose a rugged climb up to the top of the cliffs and all four mesas, that is if the fourth mesa, yet to be conquered is accessible at the highest point on the property! From the accessible third mesa we can also overlook what I call Humpback Whales, an incredible collection of those amazing velvet smooth in apppearance red, gray, black and white mottled hills on BLM land. You can experience the hidden natural amphitheater with ancient petrified wood staircase and see the petrified log jam!
You may also participate in possibly helping pound in a sand point well on Saturday or and experience the excitement at hopefully reaching water at up to 25'! Alternately, you can help clean up debris around the old home site and either way see the relic of a petrified wood and stone fireplace!
On Sunday, we will attend church services at Sister Liz's at her remote chapel on her land on the Navajo Reservation near the Half Moon Hill Outpost, an incredible moonscape of white painted desert hills at the base of an ancient colorful extinct volcano. Afterwards, we will hike in approximately 1 mile to the Outpost and get lost in a maze of white hills! If any one is interested we can also somehow make time to see the Creative Ground 10 acre parcel Lava Hill Outpost that will soon be for sale!
Bring your cameras and sketch books! Alternate activities in the painted desert pending weather.
There may be very reasonable lodging for two in the charming off grid but with all amenities including kitchen painted desert ranger cabin, by reservation, book online, on property neighboring the Angels' Atelier Retreat. Abundant Lodging is also available in Holbrook, Arizona, 20 miles west to and from which I can provide transportation daily.
I can accomodate up to four people on the tour to Half Moon Hill Outpost and Lava Hill Outpost and transporting to and from the airport and lodging. Up to five people can follow me out to the Retreat from NM in my jeep ( with one person driving) while I drive the camper. I can also pick up 4 people from the Albuquerque, NM airport on wednesday March 13 evening, where you can then spend the night at my house on either a double futon, a cot, a couch, a single air mattress, or foam bed on the floor to leave early thursday March 14 for the retreat. Return to my Los Lunas, NM home on Monday March 18 for another overnight and then I will drop off up to four people at Albuquerque airport Tuesday March 19 am.

Come, see the spectacular painted desert and petrified forest, do a little creative work photographing and sketching, assist with ground breaking activities at the Retreat, attend a unique church service on the Navajo Reservation and tour Half Moon Hill Outpost. I ask only for donation for actual cost of gas for the trips to pick up and drop off at the airport and lodging and for the extra vehicle to go to the desert. The tours are on me. Decide if you would like to become a caretaker, future 40 day Christ in the Wilderness Artist in Residence, partner, run a trail riding operation out of the Retreat, volunteer, attend a future art workshop or retreat, or possibly purchase a share in the retreat, or a piece of Creative Ground Land and become part of the Creative Ground Artist Network of painted desert artists or just have this incredible experience to refuel your creativity!
