Artist / Personal Statement
I am talking with paint and materials
- To glorify God.
- To be a friend to those who struggle.
- To view events through a biblical prism and to point to
the One who saves your soul - Jesus.
- To create art commissioned by the Creator or by you
using today's techniques and approaches to convey
God's love and God's word.
Accomplishments / CV
A self-taught artist, working with Terrence Coffman in the abstract to ekphrastic art with poet Paula Schulz and Khristian Kay has stretched his artistry. Working with the boys at St. Aemillian-Lakeside Residential Care Unit has given him a wealth of experience in life and self-expression.
Erhart contributed a 10' Guitar for the Waukesha Les Paul event and participated in a project for site-specific installations at Carroll U in a to be demolished building.
Other collaborative work to include several musicians in life performances followed at St. Marks Episcopal, Milwaukee to demonstrate how music and painting can interact inspire one another, and at Mercy Hill, Delafield to interpret a sermon service about loneliness with music and painting.
As a man inspired by his faith, Erhart recently published a book called
“Choices”, which features 48 profound, illustrated verses from Solomon combined with David Eberhart’s reflections of the Proverbs.
Born in south Germany, Erhart feels his work has been inspired by both his life in Germany and the United States. He has been a resident of Wisconsin since 1999.
Erhart’s work has been exhibited in a number of international and
local exhibits and has recently gained the interest of private collectors.
