Artist / Personal Statement
The inspiration for my work comes from creation, scripture and observations of how people and objects move and sound. Through sharing my work in a variety of venues from galleries small and large, mainstream or religious, I strive to encourage other artists within my reach and challenge them and all other viewers of my work to do that which they’ve been created to do.
By being a part of my local and state communities, I also hope to be an inspiration and encouragement to artists and people of any walk of life. God has made us each unique and passionate about something and I hope my story helps others on their own journey.
Accomplishments / CV
I have had the opportunity to display a large portion of my work in a variety of venues both secular and religious across the nation.
I currently have a series of mixed media paintings on banner from the Book of Psalms that travels across the country mostly to churches and other religious venues.
I have worked with a number of organizations to bring art to the public including a large mixed media painting at Mid America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS, a sculpture in Yankton, SD, public art in Lincoln NE in conjunction with the city public works dept and the University of Nebraska. I also have created and displayed large mosaic sculptures for my local church and Hildegard Center for the Arts.
I am also working with two non-profit organizations in Nebraska. One is Tiny Hands International in which a series of 108 paintings of mine are being auctioned off to benefit their work against slave and sex trafficking in Nepal and India. I am also working with the Brain Injury Association of Nebraska to create a large paper crane "medal of honor" to honor the Nebraska Veterans with brain injuries.
I also lead the Visual Voice Ministry at Lincoln Berean Church which is a growing ministry to visual artists in Lincoln, NE.
I have had the opportunity to serve the community through art in many ways, whether workshops or guest teaching from youth to adults. I've even had the privilege of leading a workshop for students in Des Moines, IA.
