Born on May 25, 1974, Daniel Bota developed his passion for art early on. His father, an engineer, painted in his free time, which fed and awakened his son's passion for art. Until the construction of his identity as an artist, Daniel grew up in the environment of the visual and cultural references cultivated and transmitted by his father.
As a child, I loved to browse the Geniuses of Painting collection and Michelangelo's sketches. The artist says that at the age of 9 he had a drawing of a Mercedes-Benz car published in a German magazine with worldwide circulation. "It was a contest for the brand magazine. I earned 50 German marks at the time - an unforgettable achievement for a child, "he says. His natural talent for drawing gained body and as a teenager, he studied at Cândido Portinari School, where he deepened the fundamentals of drawing, which designed him for his professional choice.
Graduated in Advertising by Mackenzie, Daniel set out to experience the advertising market in the years to come. He worked for years with art direction in several advertising agencies in São Paulo. Academic training combined with professional practice has given him solid baggage to develop his art.
A lover of surfing, his first works as an artist were a series of paintings from his heart sport, which earned him his first exhibition on the São Paulo subway. Experience that paved the way to choose living as an artist. His works have gained enormous prominence in the sports scene with paintings in honor of Brazilian Storm surfers such as Gabriel Medina, Mineirinho among others. In addition to the homage that made to Ayrton Senna, painting that belongs to the family of the pilot and got highlighted by the Institute (IAS) as one of the main made to him.
In his paintings, it is possible to perceive his visceral passion for anatomy and the representation of human expression, whether on the face or in the body. Movements, colors and joy are always present elements in his works. Another of its slopes is the Abstract Décor line. The artist also explores contemporary language that reveals the complexity of a restless mind by producing and entering the nonverbal enclosures of the human subconscious.
As an artist, he studied painting at the Accademia d Arte in Firenze, Italy (ADA) and is a member of the Paulista Association of Fine Arts, with several award-winning works. The artist also participated in several collective and individual exhibitions. With a brushstroke characteristic and quirky gestural style, his art has the ability to impact audiences with varied themes, formats and techniques.
"For me, to make art is to be sensitive to the spectacle of life, which constantly dialogues through colors and forms. Be sensitive to the interpellations that life presents. Hence my art is born. Whether it is the simplicity of an urban scene, a facial expression, the recording of a dream, or even a daydream that imposes itself as an abstraction. I feel challenged to represent the richness of life, for every expression of life intrinsically carries the message of eternity, "says the artist.
