Artist / Personal Statement
Gallery Edit is a space with a purpose. It’s a collaboration of Hillside Missions and World Horizons, two Christian mission organizations working together to establish Christian community in nations where it does not exist. We believe that faith in Christ, and living the way he showed, makes life better. In some places in the world, people are not able to freely express their faith. The gallery is a model for the concept of “art as mission”. We’re bringing people together to appreciate beautiful things that God has inspired. We intentionally have each of the featured artists post a statement about what it means to be a Christian artist creating art for the glory of God.
We are always looking to host art with a purpose. If you are a Christian artist looking to feature your work in our gallery please call us or send your portfolio to: email@example.com
Artists are responsible for the transportation, setup, breakdown, and cleanup of their artwork. Artists are permitted to sell their artwork in our gallery. We do NOT charge commission (or anything else).
Gallery Edit is located inside the Hillside/ World Horizons headquarters at 8 East Broad Street in the gallery district of Richmond, Virginia. We’re open all month. Come visit, have some coffee and chat with us.
Accomplishments / CV
Every month during Richmond’s “First Fridays,” our gallery features new work from a different artist. We have hosted and accept a wide variety of work ranging from paintings and drawings to photography, large-scale installations, and 3-D work.
Since opening in 2012, Gallery Edit has hosted a wide variety of artists, many of whom have come to us through the CIVA network.
Wow, Kudos Gallery Edit. Before becoming involved in digital arts I was mainly a painter. I had become so disillusioned in the art world, especially here in New York, that I was all but ready to give up on the arts. It is refreshing to see a gallery that stands for something. I am so happy to have returned to my Christian roots and to have found CIVA. Praise be to God.
