Within modern man several principles compete for the throne of his heart. They are at war. They are the hidden forces, motives, and energy generated by the deepest of human needs. Grounding the essence of our being in desire and conflict I give form to these powers infernal and angelic. White paper, black ink, and a rotring sketch pen are all I use to strip down human experience to it's barest, truest expression. Each drawing articulates a symbolic narrative involving expressionistic figures enacting themes of existential loneliness, spiritual longing, despair and hope. I am also heavily influenced by Eastern Orthodox Christian Mysticism.
