Artist / Personal Statement
My journey as an artist has been to study the mind, body, and soul and the maturity stages that occur through a lifetime. My prayer and individual dedication is to integrate these three large components while deepening my own maturity and love for God. In the process, I studied art at Azusa Pacific University and then continued to complete a Masters in Marital and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Clinical Art Therapy. The goal in mind to integrate my understanding of physiological trauma and pain. My journey continued to work in the most difficult group home in Los Angeles. There I purserved to work with at-risk adolescent females and the anguish they were experiencing. This experience penetrated my own soul as I sought to be righteous and take care of orphans, I intern felt my own heart and corruption. Nothing can compare to despair and now I feel I am ready to birth them meaningful art that God has stored in me before the foundations of the earth. Although I want to aid and carry the world in my arms, I know the greater calling is to make art that will affect the Hyppocampus the brain, the store of visual memory, and plant new inspiring visual meaning, combating the negativity and depravity that plagues our culture. My art is a kindred to Surrealism and that of Dali, Turner, and also the classics of female surreal artists. I hope and am dedicated to produce the quality painting that engages philosophy, the pursuit to define the soul, the enlightenment to feel the presence of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The highest goal I greatly desire and will race with tenacity is to mature the bride of Christ for the coming groom, Jesus our Lord.
