The “interventions” reflect on moments of injury and near death experience. These moments of near disaster or saving come from my own experience and are framed in a spiritual, historical context to imply the involvement of unseen forces. I understand these works as a visual inquiry into divine interventions. Influenced by the Gothic painting of pre-Renaissance Italy, the interventions showcase the sensational, fleshing out the interaction between the corporeal and spiritual, the natural and the supernatural.
