The main title is in Old English and means “to hope for and trust in” in reference to 1 Peter 3:15-16 (NIV):But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. The series invites viewers into my meta-narrative which conveys…See More

Artist / Personal Statement
I am a visual artist who specializes in oil and watercolor painting, illustration, and graphic design. I opened my art studio in 2010 but I began working with oils over 20 years ago. I create pieces in both the traditional and impressionistic styles, as well as with the direct and indirect method. I enjoy portraiture and creating pieces that require a lot of detail. I often create pieces that draw from my passion for literature (especially the fantasy and sci-fi genres). Currently, I am working on a series of installments and paintings which have a Christian apologetic emphasis (the defense of the Christian faith) that tell my story of conversion through my encounters with various apologetic arguments. I believe art is one of the most powerful and beautiful methods through which to reach the hearts of unbelievers, yet is sadly underutilized by Christians. I appreciate CIVA's encouragement toward Christian artists to use their gifts for Christ. Art has a way of drawing people to the bosom of Christ and the Church desperately needs this.
Accomplishments / CV
I hold an M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University (2019) and a B.A. in Contemporary Literary Studies and Communication from Warner University (2008). Other academic achievements include a semester abroad at the University of Oxford in the fall of 2006 and the completion of the Core Module in Christian Apologetics through Ravi Zacharias International Ministries. I have been a CIVA member for four years and have had my work on display at the Intersect Gallery in St. Louis, MO; the Gilbert Chapel Gallery in St. Petersburg, FL; Our Savior Lutheran Church Gallery in St. Petersburg, FL; and at Biola University. I have sold my work internationally and in the United States.
