Artist / Personal Statement
I am a visual artist and work part-time as a freelance painter and illustrator. I began my art journey by working with charcoal and conte, then started working with oils over nineteen years ago. I am self-taught and create pieces that are both traditional and impressionistic, which focus on my passion for literature and Christian apologetics. The latter is a recent striving to produce art that is both meaningful and relays the truth of the Gospel of Christ. Currently, I am working on a series of paintings that will attempt to relay the truth of sin, human depravity, God’s grace, and the glory that awaits believers in heaven. I believe art is one of the most powerful and beautiful methods through which to reach the hearts of unbelievers, yet is sadly underutilized. We need to encourage Christian artists to use their gifts in such a way as to compel people to consider the Christian message. It is time to add our voice to the fray and speak the truth through art.
