I have an artistic purpose in life. I seek to fulfill this purpose by making sculptures. Ultimately I want to tell a story. My hope is that I may not offend anyone with my story, but on the contrary share my hope, since it is about Jesus Christ. When I am about to create a piece I meditate on what is most important to me. I then take this raw essence of inspiration and create a shape that expresses movement, emotion and destiny. It finally resolves in combining lines, angles, curves and weight to tell a story.
My desire to fulfill this purpose consumes me. Moreover my artistic heritage intensifies my determination to follow my calling. I have tried many times to hide it, forget about it and get busy doing other things. But it always comes back creating an unbearable pressure and a feeling of meaninglessness. It is at this point (and I have come to it many times) that I have to decide whether I’m going to follow my passion and what I think God’s calling is for me, or run. I have resolved to follow. This is my story.

A little About my life and family:
Jacquie, my wife, and I met in our church “Iglesia Pentecostal Las Acacias” in Caracas, Venezuela in 1987. It was love at first sight and two years later our Pastor Samuel Olson married us. God has blessed us with three precious children: Matthew (18), David (17) and Johanna (12). All three go to Kelowna Christian School. One of the most important reasons for our moving to Canada ten years ago was for our children to be able to go to a good Christian school. Matty and Davy are in the school worship band and also in the worship band of our church, Evangel. They also have their own worship band and write their own music. Recently they won a contest to play with their own songs in a large local Christian Youth Worship event called “Rush” where the band Starfield is going to play.
Jacquie and I led a cell group in our house in Venezuela for ten years. It was known for the freedom in worship that people experienced there and for the love everybody had for one another. Here in Canada Jacquie leads the “flagging team” at our church called Evangel Church. Her vision is to express worship with “all your heart, soul and body” during the services. She is very much esteemed by our Pastor Will Sohnchen and many others. Johanna is also in the flagging team and is very inspiring to kids of her age. I am an active member of the Inner Healing Prayer Team. It has been very rewarding for me to serve the Lord in this way not to mention the incredible healing I have experienced myself.
I believe in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. It is only by faith in what He did for us which was shedding his blood on the cross that we have remission for our sins. It is only by His name, Jesus, that we can have Salvation and everlasting life, because he paid for our sins on the cross and rose on the third day defeating death. There is no other name in Heaven or on Earth by which men can be saved from their sins and have everlasting life. After he rose and ascended to Heaven but he didn’t leave us orphans. He sent us the Holy Spirit. It is by the Holy Spirit that we can become empowered to serve Him courageously and obey his commandments. I feel and hope that He is coming back soon for His Bride the Church.
