Artist / Personal Statement
What I do stems from who I am. Who I am is a redeemed child of God. That relationship is reflected in all the work I make whether subtle or overt. My primary expression for my work is woven textiles. How multitudes of disparate threads can get organized into a unified cloth, that even when simple is complex, is what I’m interested in and what I celebrate in what I create. Working with this amazing weaving process I produce textiles that stand on their own as weavings and play with both simplicity and complexity. I also have a degree in theology and the works that I create that are specifically for liturgical use come from this background, tying into the great tradition of liturgical weaving while at the same time giving it my own expression.
