""Political art" is not art - it is propoganda. Artists who engage in this type of subject matter are kidding themselves into thinking they are doing something important or making a crucial commentary on life and society.  They are…"

Accomplishments / CV
Julian Raven is an artist, designer and an entrepreneurial and creative visionary.

He was born in RIchmon-Upon-Thames in London, England. He was raised on the Mediterranean in Marbella, Southern Spain. Raven studied art in Spain and London at the Chelsea School of Art. He lives in Elmira, New York with my wonderful wife and fantastic three children. They have a hobby farm with chickens, goats, rabbits, ducks, bobcats, a horse, bees and a dog.

Thinking spatially and in color comes naturally to Raven. Images rapidly fill the inner spaces that his eyes perceive in the world. Blank canvasses are filled. Empty walls come to life. The seemingly hopeless suddenly begins to breath again.

This gifting, he has discovered, works across many realms of our creative life. Artistically, it functions in different media, both two-dimensionally and three-dimensionally, whether painting, designing, cabinet making or woodworking. They all work as dramatic stages upon which Julian Raven's gifts perform.

For many years as an entrepreneur, Julian Raven has built businesses seemingly out of thin air. His market vision, perception and research allows him to quickly develop and tailor a business model to a certain economic environment. Within a short period of time, he has enjoyed success in these different endeavors.

However, it is the visual arts, to which Raven's curious, divergent, creative and inquisitive mind ultimately returns. Flux and change are natural to the artistic flow within Julian. The new and fresh artistic vision drives him onwards. Connecting with his deep inner-world and releasing the creative experiences through his art is destiny to him. His art is the one source of expression that keeps pace with the unfolding imagery, visions and ideas that develop within.

Julian Raven's search for the 'ultimate language' is on. The desire to download intelligibly to you and to the world around him produces this ever-constant tension and challenge. These elements drive the engines within to create, to invent and to produce, until that which is unseen can be understood!

Anti-Trump Political Art

Rembrandt recognized the inseparable and intrinsic relationship between art and the artist. He saw the inseparable nature of the thing created from its creator, in this case the artist. Rembrandt said; “Painting is the grandchild of nature, it is related to God.”

Artists cannot escape being so attached to our work, in that our art is akin to our DNA being…

Inner World Outer World

Inner world experiences are powerfully expressed through art.  My inner world experiences are expressed through my abstract expressionist paintings.  Using my advanced brushless ‘drip & splash’ technique, I can accomplish deeply satisfying levels of expression and abstraction.  The vigorous application of paint, allows me to be fully immersed in my…

I Am Alive

Expressing the condition of one's inner most being is for me the artist's highest goal and driving force. In a world full of misery, chaos and ugliness, even in the art world, my art takes me to places of passionate spiritual energy, worship and ecstasy.

Monumental scales, vibrant colors, dazzling compositions, energy packed lines, marks and…

Dealing With Fear And My Tribute To Alan Henning

Dealing With The Fear of Death and My tribute to Mr. Alan Henning.

In the light of the recent public TV slayings of two US journalists and two Aid workers by the infamous terrorist group know as ISIS, I was moved to respond.  The fear-mongering, cowardly terrorists know their game of terror and horror well.  Their remix of medieval brutality and…
